Looks like since our girl Brandy has had a tremendous weight lifted, is back in the recording studio. The Los Angeles City Attorney, has decided not to file vehicular manslaughter charges against her over a fatal car collision.
I sincerely felt bad that Brandy was forced to live under a cloud of suspicion by the California Highway Patrol, the victims’ husband (click here) and TMZ putting her on blast (prematurely) accusing, Brandy of wrongdoing before the police investigation was even finished. In addition to all that she was not asked to return for a 2^nd season of "America's Got Talent" instead Sharon Osbourne replaced her.

Although Brandy is singing again, the fat lady hasn’t sung yet. Brandy still faces four wrongful-death lawsuits filed (civil trial date is set for 1.28.08) on behalf of Aboudihaj's (estranged) parents, her widower, her two children and another victim of the crash, Mallory Ham, Fred Sanford and anyone else within two feet of the accident who foolishly believes that Ms. Brandy Norwood is somehow going to fund their children’s college education, their summer and winter homes, and their retirement. Or, anything else their greedy little minds can think of. (They are suing for $50 Million).

Phuleeze, I’d paid good money for a front row seat to see the lawyer who can pull off collecting one penny. Not even the late great lawyer, Johnnie Cochran could win this case. Especially since it’s been determined that not only did Awatef Aboudihaj, the woman who died, struck the car in front of her at 65mph but, the L.A. County Coroner toxicology report shows Aboudihaj had "slight traces" of marijuana in her system at the time of the crash. Ouch!...yeah seriously good luck with that one.

Toyota recalls Lexus

Toyota began recalling 264,000 luxury passenger vehicles over faulty fuel pipes Thursday, including flagship Lexus cars sold in Canada and other overseas countries, the company said.

Included in the recall are Lexus models produced in Japan in 2005 and sold overseas, and Lexus, Mark X, and Crown models sold in Japan, according to Toyota Motor Corp. spokeswoman Yoshie Matsuura.

Faulty fuel pipe design on the recalled models could cause cracks and corrosion and lead to a fuel leak, according to a notice filed with the Transport Ministry.

The Lexus GS300, Lexus IS250, and Lexus IS350 vehicles are being recalled in Canada, the United States, England and Germany, Matsuura said.

There have been 39 cases of trouble within Japan but no reports of injuries, according to the Transport Ministry. It was not immediately clear whether any problems have been reported elsewhere.

The Japanese automaker has been hit with quality control problems in recent years, as it ramps up production to meet booming demand. Toyota has promised to beef up quality checks.

The Feeling's Back...Finally on 2/5/08 Soul Food The Complete 3rd Season will be released. I’m not too sure what CBS/Paramount considers a complete season. Amazon says that this DVD has 20 episodes with a running time of 16 hours and 34 minutes. Now the confusion is that Soul Food’s 3rd season only had 10 episodes (June-August 2002), and the 4th season consisted of 10 episodes (April-June 2003). So what are they saying the 3rd and 4th season is considered one? At this point in time, I really don’t care. I’ve waited too long as it is. Soul Food was one of my favorite series and I was disappointed when it was canceled so whatever they release I’m buying.

open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes
will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my
heels spill over the backs.

And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out
between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh,
intact and chip-free.

I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn
hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed
girlfriend, coworker, other, sister tells me the toe
seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it
there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or
tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I
will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on
my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless
for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are
small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out
of concern for my safety, and the safety of
others. No one can walk properly when standing in a
pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down
with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day
if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna
sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my
girlfriend/sister/ coworker when she asks me if her
feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell
her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no
sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure
that they actually flip and flop, making the correct
noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or
drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go my local nail salon at least once
per season and have a real pedicure (they are about
$35 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white
sandals that show
signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white
sandals.

Also returning to the CW fold are "America's Next Top Model," "Beauty & the Geek," "Smallville," "Supernatural," and "One Tree Hill."

In response to a weekend report by Roger Friedman over at Fox News 411 that Whitney Houston arrived at Stevie Wonders birthday bash red-eyed and stoned. Her record company has released this statement:

Whitney Houston is straight as an arrow, not doing drugs and working hard in the studio.

"She shows up at 3 p.m., stays as long as she's needed and is doing her practicing at home," she's working with are Diane Warren, R. Kelly, Jermaine Dupri and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. Warren's song is titled "I Didn't Know How Much Strength I Had." Dupri cut his track last week.

I remember one of my all time favorite episodes from The Cosby Show, was on how to be clear of your intentions when speaking with others. Because Theo had not been honest with Cockroach about his feelings when asked. He lost out on what he really wanted.

A few weeks prior to my first Mother's Day as a daughter-in-law, I asked my mother what she wanted. Her response was "unless you got a spare million dollars, then I don't want anything".
What a relief!!! You see my mothers birth date is May 5th, my mother-in-laws was May 7th, my anniversary was May 12th. And to top it off, I had just given birth on April 26th. So, needless to say, I wasn't about to ask her "are you sure"?, when the opportunity was given to save a few dollars, I took it and ran. So on her birthday as well as my mother-in-laws, I gave them both presents. Then on Mothers Day I gave my mother-in-law a present and some flowers, and because I didn't have a million dollars I didn't get my mother anything just as she requested. Woo, woo, woo...have you ever been cussed out every which way by a Christian before? After she ranted about how much of an ungrateful daughter I was, she took a breath asked Jesus for strength and then started on who was the better grand-mother. Well, I learned my lesson. Never listen to your mother. Today as she opened her Mother's Day present and exclaimed "oh' Michelle, you didn't have to get me anything". I just laughed to myself and thought "yeah right!". I wish I was bold enough to give her the Claire Huxtable speech about "saying what you mean, when you say what you say".
I hope y'all had a wonderful Mother's Day and got what you said you really wanted....

Okay I've been down this road before...with entertainers with no more fashion sense than a NYC cab driver. But, now somehow they are overnight" fashion designers" for no other reason than, it sounds like a good idea....each year the list gets longer...Beyonce*, Snoop Dogg, Paula Abdul, Pharell, Jessica Alba, G Unit, Queen Latifah, EVE, Gwen Stefanie*, Elizabeth Hurley, Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson , even Anna Nicole Smith was in collaboration with Von Dutch, before her death.
And guess what irks me more than the fact that no one has bothered with something as minor as a degree in fashion. It is the lack of quality...yes, I'm talking directly about JLo's fashion company, Sweetface. In 2004 *hangin head in shame* I purchased a pair of her sweat pants, which after the 1st cleaning transformed into capri's. (...and yes, I read the cleaning directions correct). In fairness I hear the quality of her higher end line, which debuted at New York Fashion Week is much better. Too late for me, JLo owes me $50.00 plus tax.
